Comic I Read: DC Universe Vs. Masters of The Universe: Issue 2
Plot: Reunited with his mother, He-Man must fight against the Skeletor-controlled Justice League.
Review: This is my fault. I praised the first issue of this series by saying it was fun and didn’t fall for the usually mistakes event comics have like doing something you know won’t last. SPOILERS well by the end of this issue, He-Man has killed Superman. Yes killed! With his sword! God this is so pointless! Why not just have He-Man beat him up! Then we don’t have to waste a lot of the series bring him back to life. Having Supes just beat up, gives us the same effect and sets the power in place. But killing him just gives the book a darker than needed aspect and seems very gimmick-y. As if instead of finding out how He-Man/Superman will stop Skeletor, now we are just reading to find out how Superman will survive in a series that isn’t really about him. It’s jus to so pointless!
Also Skeletor, look at him up there. What is coming out of his mouth and why is it also coming out of his hand? Is it air? Farts? Why? Also why does he look like Darkseid? Skeletor is an agile, evil sorcerer that uses earth magic for power. So why would he cover up most of his body in armor? Why is so big? Also he has horns coming out of him but what purpose do they serve? Just to look cool?
Really just no to all this this! See you next month as hopefully we get back to the fun of the first issue.
